I've not eaten at the restaurant, but I have been at the bar a few times. Happy hour eats are very good and the prices reasonable. The restaurant does offer some really good specials. I've always found the wait staff to be friendly. I've had it take some time to get the final bill though, when it wasn't that busy. I rate the bar 5 stars. I can't speak for the restaurant.
The restaurant is beautiful inside! I frequent the Buck at least twice a month and always have a great meal. We usually go during the week for dinner. I really like the crab cakes and you can't find a better clams casino in area. My wife loves the fried shrimp, especially with their cocktail sauce. They must make their own, its has the perfect amount of heat to it. You can really tell they use top quality food and still have appropriate pricing.
The place has been around for a long time. I was a bit disappointed in the food. The clam chowder soup was too salty for my taste. Had a shrimp cocktail, but felt the price was too high for what you get. Prime Rib was good, but again the price a bit high at almost $35.00. We ended up spending a good deal of money for our two meals, and even though we enjoyed the dinner, did not feel it was worth the price. The service was good.
I am editing a previous 4 star review, that was actually generous. I was there this Saturday, when I was there to see one of our favorite bands, as many people were (since the band promoted it). I was first taken aback by how little room they gave the band. There was a Halloween costume contest that was impossible for people to even weigh in since there was no room on the stage to have them come up to. The drinks are over priced, as usual. And then the owner, at the end of the night, ensured that I will not be back to the Buck again. After a great performance and packing the place, the owner told the band members that they weren't allowed to load out the side door and called one of the band members an expletive. Why? Because people, not only band members by the way, that were smoking out the side door, flicked cigarettes on the ground. I don't condone littering. However, having receptacles would alleviate that and that was not the fault of the band. To make them walk through a crowded bar with all of their equipment was a disgrace for a band that has brought you in tons of revenue over the last 4 or 5 years. Bad business=no business. Goodbye Buck hotel.
Went to the 'Seafood Buffet' tonight. We have gone in the past and it was great, with a nice variety of seafood, soup and salads. Very first time we went there we had sushi also. We were very disappointed this time. No crab legs, no soup or bread. Corn on the cob was cold and mushy, the mashed potatoes were hard, the meat that was sliced was cold and the chicken was tough. The waitress mentioned the price dropped by $5 dollars. We don't mind paying an extra 5 dollars for quality selection and food, so we won't be back.
